The psychology of Bulimia Nervosa

| | Comments (0)

Myra Cooper's long awaited book on the psychology of bulimia nervosa from a cognitive perspective is now out, published by Oxford University Press.

It's a great introduction to Bulimia Nervosa but will also have much to offer those more familiar with the condition. Myra starts off with several extremely thorough introductory chapters which cover of all aspects of the condition, including medical complications, epidemiology, theories of causation and so on.
But the really exciting part of the book is the presentation of the first new cognitive model of bulimia nervosa to have been published since Fairburn and Cooper. The model is presented clearly with both research and clinical implications.

Scholarly and thorough but always clear and approachable, this book comes highly recommended. It's available from Amazon UK and Amazon USA.
