Woman's Hour Mental Health Special

| | Comments (0)

Radio 4 programme Woman's Hour had a special programme today (Tues 25th May), on women's mental health issues, including depression, self harm and eating disorders.

It's an excellent programme with some good contributions from sufferers/service users and professionals. Jenni Murray also interviews Health minister Rosie Winterton and asks some tough questions about gaps in NHS services for womens mental health issues. You can listen to the programme on line until next Tuesday on the BBC Radio 4 website.

The programme mentions a Department of Health Document entitled 'Mainstreaming gender and women's mental health' which suggests that in some cases, mental health services should be gender specific.
