Mental Health Media Awards
The Mental Health Media Awards, are given annually to recognise and celebrate helpful, objective and positive portrayals of mental health issues in the broadcast media.
You can nominate a programme or person in various categories including:
TV and Radio News
Single Drama & Drama Serial
Soaps & Drama Series
TV Documentary
Factual Radio
Radio Drama
Raising Public Awareness: information, discussion or advertising about mental health eg talkshows, TV and radio public awareness campaigns.
Survivor: a survivor of mental distress who has spoken out in the media.
But you'll need to hurry, as nominations close on 14th June 2004.
The Mental Health Media Awards are run by Mental Health Media, an organisation which uses all media to promote the voices of people with experience of mental distress and challenge discrimination. They produce video and new media resources and offer training to people with experience of mental distress who want to work with the media. They also work with journalists and broadcasters to inform their coverage of mental health issues.
