Newton-Wellesley Eating Disorders and Behavioral Medicine is in the process of
expanding their clinical staff with the following positions:
(1) Two additional psychotherapists:
NWEDBMED seeks Massachusetts licensed clinicians, either psychologists
or social workers (Ph.D., Psy.D., Ed.D. or LICSW), for halftime
positions in their Newton-Wellesley Hospital and Brookline offices.
The successful candidates for these positions will have expertise in
one or more of the following areas: psychotherapy and case
management of eating disordered patients, CBT, DBT, behavioral medicine.
Eating disorders treatment experience is preferred. Ample collegial
contact and individual/group supervision are provided to develop new
clinical skills.
2) M.D. Position (Board Certified/Board Eligible Psychiatrist):
The practice is also seeking an additional board certified or board
eligible psychiatrist for a position in their Newton-Wellesley Hospital
or Brookline office. The successful candidate for this position will
have expertise in one or more of the following areas: mental health
evaluation and psychopharmacologic treatment of a wide variety of
patients, psychotherapy and case management of eating disordered
patients, behavioral or psychosomatic medicine, consult
liaison psychiatry. This new position for a psychiatrist with an
interest in eating disorders is for 4-8 hours per week and begins in
late fall 2004 or early winter 2005.
3) RNCS Position (Clinical nurse specialist):
NWEDBMED is seeking a clinical nurse specialist (R.N.C.S.)
in mental health nursing, credentialed for prescribing privileges,
with at least one year prescribing experience, for a quarter to
half-time position (10-20 hours per week) in their Newton-Wellesley
Hospital and Brookline offices. The successful candidate for this
position will have expertise in one or more of the following areas:
mental health evaluation and psychopharmacologic treatment of a wide
variety of patients, psychotherapy and case management of eating
disordered patients, CBT, DBT, psychosomatic or behavioral medicine.
Eating disorders treatment experience is preferred. Ample collegial
contact and individual/group supervision are provided to develop new
clinical skills.
ABOUT THE PRACTICE
The clinical team is currently composed of six psychologists, two
psychiatrists, a social worker with substance abuse experience, and
two registered dieticians. Their services include: individual
confidential patient consultation; consultation to families,
educators, and health care professionals; individual, group and
family treatment; psychiatric evaluation and psychopharmacologic
treatment; nutritional counseling, case management and treatment
coordination, and group treatment for bulimia nervosa. A team
approach and careful coordination of treatment of eating disordered
individuals are emphasized. Most major insurance and managed care
plans are accepted.
Offices are located at the Newton-Wellesley Hospital Medical Office
Building and at 1101 Beacon Street in Brookline, Massachusetts. Both
offices are on public transportation and are handicapped accessible. The
Newton-Wellesley office is right off both the Massachusetts Turnpike
and Route 128. The Brookline office is easily accessible to the
campuses of colleges and universities located in both Boston and
Cambridge, Massachusetts.
