Meal support therapy videos available

The eating disorders program at BC Children's Hospital have produced two videos on Meal Support Therapy, one for professionals, and the latest for friends & family - about meal support, and how to do it well. The materials consist of a 33 minute video and a 40 page "how-to" manual, produced in cooperation with Seattle Children's Hosp. EDP, and enacted by our patients and staff, scenarios co-written with patients and Dr. Pierre Leichner.

From the accompanying information:
"Mealtimes can be extremely tense and emotional for patients suffering from eating disorders, their friends and their family. Based on what sufferers and their families shared with us, we have produced a manual and an accompanying video to help friends, family & caregivers in providing emotional and practical support during mealtimes to a person struggling with an eating disorder. This support can be provided before, during and after meals & snacks in an effort to increase the person
