Professional: May 2004 Archives
Just after posting my article on key references in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy for Eating Disorders, I came across three new articles which are relevant to this area, all in recent issues of the International Journal of Eating Disorders. I've updated the post with these new articles and they are also listed below.
Here is the third part of my suggested references for eating disorders researchers. This covers the use of CBT in anorexia and bulimia and is in response to a request by a reader. Do email me if you have suggestions for additions or requests for more references.
I'm gradually getting together a list of organisations who may be able to fund eating disorder research. I'd welcome suggestions for additions to this list, either by email or by posting a comment below.
Most of these resources are UK based for now, but I'm also interested in international resources.
The Psychological Broadcasting Corporation (PsyBC), the long-running Psychology resource website, runs a range of online courses and seminars. Upcoming titles include:
'Depth-Oriented Brief Therapy'
'Discovering & Verbalizing Unconscious Emotional Truth'
'Obsessive Attachment to Former Lover'
and
'The Psychologies of the Religious Fundamentalist: Toward a Psychoanalytic Understanding'
Courses cost between 29 and 49 dollars and continuing education credits are available.
Just to let you know that I am happy to list job adverts for jobs in eating disorders and related fields (clinical or research). If you are looking to fill a position, please feel free to email me with full details and I will list your job free of charge.
